Indoor and Box Cricket Grounds in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Twin-cities cricket does not stop when the sun goes down — it moves indoors. Caged grounds with astro turf and floodlights have gone up across Islamabad and Rawalpindi over the last few years, and most of them run slots well past midnight.

Here are eleven of them, with the area, a phone number and their Google rating. Details were checked in November 2026. Ring ahead: slots, surfaces and prices change, and the busy grounds fill up days in advance for weekend nights.

Playing indoors tonight? Take a ball that lasts the session.

The Tilde swing ball is 70g PU rubber built for astro turf and floodlights — true tape-ball bounce, natural swing off the seam, and no stopping every few overs to re-tape.

Which ball works indoors

Indoor grounds are tough on balls. The turf is abrasive, the cage walls take a beating, and a session that runs three hours will chew through a bag of tape balls — each one lasting roughly twenty-five overs before the tape lifts and the bounce starts drifting.

Three things matter for an indoor ball:

  1. Weight. Around 70 grams — tape-ball weight. Anything heavier is unkind to tape-ball bats, to hands, and to the netting.
  2. Visibility. Under floodlights, high-visibility yellow is the easiest to track. Pink stands out well against green turf.
  3. Durability. Every stop to re-tape is time you have paid for and are not playing.

This is the gap the Tilde swing ball was built for: a 70g PU-rubber ball with a half-dimple, half-smooth surface so it swings off the seam without any tape, tested for over 200 overs, and washable when the turf marks it up. If you want to use the conditions properly, the guide to swinging a tape ball walks through the grip and the seam angle.

Run one of these grounds?

If you own or manage an indoor ground, box arena or academy in the twin cities, Tilde supplies balls by the box at trade pricing — six balls to a box, minimum two boxes, with bigger discounts from six boxes up. A box that lasts a season beats a crate of tape balls that lasts a fortnight. Trade pricing is here.

And if your ground is not on this list, or something above is out of date, send us a message and we will add or fix it.

FAQ

How much does an indoor cricket ground cost per hour in Islamabad?
It varies by venue, slot and day, and the grounds on this list do not publish rates. Ring the number listed and ask for weekday and weekend prices — they are often different.

Do indoor grounds stay open late?
Most run night slots, which is the main reason they exist. Weekend late slots are the first to go.

Can you play with a hard ball indoors?
Usually not. Indoor and box grounds are built for tape-ball and soft-ball cricket, and a hardball damages both the netting and the players. Check with the ground first.

What is the difference between indoor cricket and box cricket?
In everyday use here, very little — both mean a small caged ground with turf and lights. “Box cricket” usually implies the walls are in play.

Which ball colour is best under floodlights?
Yellow, in most grounds. Pink is easier to track against green turf in brighter venues.

Every Tilde ball is tested for 200+ overs with no re-taping, in high-visibility yellow or pink, at senior men’s ball size.
